Rich Rose
Owner & Founder
Rich is a licensed residential builder with over 20 years of experience. He is also a member of the Home Builders Association of Greater Grand Rapids as well as the National Home Builders Association. He started his career in home construction working for his father’s remodeling company in New Jersey in the 1990’s. After moving to Michigan, Rich set out to start his own home construction company, and Ridgewood Home Construction was born. His many years of experience on kitchen remodels, bathroom remodels, and basement finishes reflect his passion to bring out the full potential in a home. The most fulfilling aspect of his craft is the opportunity he gets to work with homeowners, and he finds satisfaction in designing and completing projects that meet his customers’ unique needs and expectations. Every home is unique, and Ridgewood Construction aims to provide homeowners with customized solutions to their needs.
When Rich isn’t on job sites, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Teresa, and their daughters, Lia and Harper. As a family, they especially enjoy spending time outdoors hiking, camping, and going for walks in the neighborhood.
Teresa Rose
Office Manager
Teresa began her career in public accounting and worked in that field for several years. She worked with clients in a wide range of industries. Teresa later worked for a local telecommunications company, leading the finance department. As her family grew, Teresa decided to spend more time at home with her daughters. She currently works part-time as the office manager for Ridgewood Home Construction, where her responsibilities include estimating, bookkeeping, scheduling, business planning, and more. Teresa earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting as well as her Master’s in Business Administration from Grand Valley State University. In her spare time, Teresa enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her family hiking, biking, and camping.
Alissa Wertz
Designer
She has over 20 years of experience in design, both interior and exterior, color consulting and project management. She knew from the 7th grade, after a career day visit, that she wanted to be a designer and help people create beautiful, comfortable spaces in which they could live, work, and play. She studied interior design at Western Michigan University and Kendall College of Art and Design and along the way earned her certification with Benjamin Moore as a Certified Color Expert. She spent many years in the architectural coatings industry assisting with color schemes, design, and space planning for many companies, restaurants, and religious institutions in the West Michigan area. Alissa loves to work with clients getting to know them and tailoring designs to meet their needs. When not designing spaces, she loves to spend time in the kitchen baking and cooking for her friends and family.
Travis Kersten
Carpenter
Travis has been working as a carpenter for Ridgewood Home Construction since 2014. He attended Davenport University. Travis is very outgoing and loves helping homeowners in any way he can. He is always quick to go the extra mile – bringing in a package from the front porch, keeping homeowners informed, and offering help wherever he can. He is always doing little extra things for clients that they appreciate so much! Travis enjoys a challenge and is always interested in learning new skills. When he isn’t working, Travis enjoys taking his boat out fishing, backpacking, and spending time outdoors.
