Don’t Skip the Design & Planning Stage
As excited as you are to make your dream kitchen a reality, it is critical that you don’t breeze past the planning stage. At Ridgewood Home Construction, we call this the Design & Planning stage. You might be surprised by how much time and planning goes into your remodeling project before we ever swing a hammer! If you’re thinking about remodeling your home, this stage is where you need to start to ensure a smooth and successful project. We’ll work to ensure that your project is delivered on time and on budget. This starts with a strong Design & Planning stage. Learn about the rest of our remodeling process.
Make Your Space Memorable
Think of the first space in your home that you would like to remodel, or the one that is most important to you. Maybe it’s the kitchen. What’s the first thing guests notice when they walk into your kitchen now? What’s the first thing you’d like them to notice? What do you wish your kitchen could provide that it doesn’t at the moment? Maybe you would like it to be a large space where people can gather around and drink wine without feeling like sardines. Thinking through your goals for a space can help steer the design direction of your remodel. If you have a new dream for the look and function of your kitchen, or any space in your home, we’d love to make that a reality!

Know Your Remodeling Timeline
One of the questions we hear frequently is, “How long will this remodel take?” The answer, of course, depends on the scope and complexity of your specific home remodeling project. For example, a bathroom remodel that entails knocking walls down will take longer than a simpler bathroom redesign. That’s something we will work out and discuss before your project begins so that when we start work in your home, we have a clear plan in place. All or part of your home will turn into a construction zone during a remodel, and knowing beforehand if it will be for one week or six weeks can help you plan accordingly.
Optimize Your Space
Not all remodeling projects involve adding space. Sometimes there is no space available, and sometimes it’s just not really what you want. When adding space isn’t your goal, optimizing your space might be. Sometimes, optimizing your space even feels like adding space, since you end up getting much better use out of it. However, when you have lived in your home for so long and seen it used in a certain way, it may be hard to reimagine a space. A fresh set of eyes, who just so happen to be a remodeling company, can bring new life to a well-loved space. We can find ways to optimize your kitchen and add more storage, or rearrange your living space to maximize seating.
