Whenever we start the conversation about a new remodeling project, one of the most pressing questions we hear from clients is, “How much will this cost?” And understandably so! Budget is one of, if not the, biggest factors in remodeling projects, and you want to know what you’re getting yourself into before you pull the trigger on a project.

Understanding the cost of the project is important to our clients, and it’s important to us! Actually, it’s so important to us that we’ve developed a clear process to make sure that you know the actual project cost, not just a vague range, before your remodeling project begins.

Our Design & Project Development Process

We have created a solid, clear-cut design and project development process to take the guesswork out of project budgets. You’ll find a quick overview of our process below.

Step #1: Establish a Clear Design

First, we work to have a clear design plan in place. We take the time to understand exactly what you want in your renovated kitchen, bathroom, or whatever you’re remodeling. This helps us stay on the same page from the start and gives us a clear scope of work.

Step #2: Choose Selections

Next, we put together a selections list and work with you to make all of the material selections for your project. This is a crucial step, as different types of cabinetry, flooring, and countertops can vary widely in price! Knowing exactly what your selections are gives us a clear price to add into your project budget so you know exactly what your project will cost. If you’re not quite ready to commit to a specific laminate floor or light fixture, don’t worry. We’ll narrow down your choice and let you know how each one will impact the final cost.

Step #3: Share Project Quote

Finally, when we have your scope of work and selections in place, we can provide you with a clear project budget, not just a range. If the quote is too high, we can take another look at selections and choose options that bring down the total cost. Alternatively, you could consider narrowing the scope of your project or splitting it up into smaller projects. Instead of renovating your entire main level at once, you might decide to go room by room.

This process doesn’t happen in 10 minutes. It takes time to talk through your vision, goals, priorities, and selections. However, investing time into the project on the front end helps ensure that things run smoothly and that there are no surprises to your budget. Not only that, but it helps ensure that things run smoothly and on-schedule once your remodeling project begins. When selections are made ahead of time, we can order your materials and plan a schedule based on when they’ll actually be delivered.

If you have a project in mind, smooth sailing begins with solid design and project development! If having a clear budget for your project is a priority to you, give us a call to start the process. We’d love to work with you and turn your current house into your dream home.
